While cats excel in low light conditions, our human vision falls short. Luckily, technology steps in to unveil the mysteries of the night. The Nightra night vision monocular is a gadget designed to reveal every detail in vivid, full color.
Targeted towards nocturnal wildlife observers and outdoor enthusiasts, the Nightra monocular boasts eight-layer optics with multi-layer coating to reduce reflections and light loss. With an F1.2 aperture lens, it captures starlight-level low-light full-color images by absorbing ambient light.
This handheld device offers an “effective viewing distance” of up to 800m in total darkness, equipped with a 10x digital zoom and an 850nm IR illuminator with seven levels of adjustment. It provides a peek into the hidden world beyond our naked eye’s reach.
You can view the hidden realm through a 1.6-inch high-definition LCD display, with the imaging sensor enabling photo resolutions of up to 10 megapixels and 4K video recording. It saves data to microSD media cards, supporting capacities up to 512GB.
The Nightra monocular is crafted from aluminum alloy and ABS, featuring a non-slip grip and intuitive button layout for comfortable single-handed operation. It includes an M6 thread for tripod mounting for stability.
The Nightra operates in temperatures ranging from -5 °C to 50 °C (23 – 122 °F) and is weather-sealed to IP54 standards, ensuring reliability on various adventures. Its 4,000-mAh internal battery offers up to 6 hours of use per charge, recharged via USB-C.
The Nightra team from Taiwan has launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce the night-vision monocular, offering early bird pledges starting at $99. Shipping is estimated to begin in April upon successful funding. Check out the video for more details.
