Media and information platform Blockworks has unveiled its new Token Transparency Framework with a goal for fairer, more rigorous disclosure standards in the cryptocurrency industry.
The Blockworks Token Transparency Framework has been built collaboratively with industry partners, hoping to create greater clarity around cryptocurrency markets and reduce misconceptions about the risks of new cryptocurrencies and blockchain-based projects.
Several leading industry projects are already actively supporting the Blockworks framework, including Morpho, Stride, Jupiter, Jito, Raydium, and Aerodrome Finance. The framework’s implementation is led by Louis Thomazeau of L1D, Felipe Montealegre of Theia, and Cosmo Jiang of Pantera Capital.
The framework focuses transparency and disclosure in the cryptocurrency industry, like token supply and allocation, project and team verification, financial disclosure, and market structure.
Ryan Connor, head of research at Blockworks, says the framework has the potential to establish fairer cryptocurrency markets. “We believe disclosure and transparency are critical in establishing tokens as investable [sic] assets. By reducing the information asymmetry in token markets, we can build fairer, more efficient markets for all.”
Jito Foundation’s executive director, Brian Smith, said investors want “rigorous, uniform token disclosures to evaluate projects with confidence.” He said the new framework will provide “radical transparency.”
Blockworks is not directly involved in trading, issuing, or investing in tokens, creating fewer conflicts of interest. Alexander Cutler, a core contributor at Aerodrome, said the Token Transparency Framework is the beginning of fairer transparency standards. “The is not the finish line, but a call to action: we want more builders pushing the boundaries of transparency, ensuring our industry continually evolves toward fairness and openness.”
