The Texas Tech football team added another versatile defensive back to its 2026 recruiting class.
Frisco Panther Creek safety Donovan Webb announced Wednesday that he would be committing to the Red Raiders. Webb is the 16th member of Texas Tech’s 2026 class. He is the sixth defensive back and second safety to commit to Joey McGuire and staff.
Webb (6-foot, 182 pounds) is a composite four-star recruit at 247Sports, listed as the No. 46 recruit in Texas and the 30th-ranked safety. He helped Panther Creek win the Division II 7-on-7 state championship earlier this month.
As a junior, Webb was credited with 120 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and nine pass breakups. He also rushed for 172 yards and returned two punts for touchdowns. On the track, Webb posted a time of 11.01 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a 22.56 in the 200.
Webb held offers from a host of power-conference programs. He chose Tech over fellow finalists Michigan, Notre Dame and Kansas State.
