Samsung confirmed a few days ago that its next Unpacked event will be held on July 9 in New York City. The company has a handful of new devices that it’s going to launch, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldables.
It has now started hyping up the event through its social media channels, drumming up excitement for the upcoming devices. One of the teasers it has put up will have you feeling peckish for the new foldables, and wondering whether the tri-fold is on the menu next week.
The teaser could be dropping hints about Samsung’s tri-fold phone
The playful video Samsung has posted on its social media blends together a word salad of adjectives to define the characteristics of these new phones being wrapped up in a few appetizing dumplings.
There are clear references to the Galaxy Z series, hints at the new Coral Red color for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and references to the high-end performance that the new foldables will offer.
The word “Ultra” is references a few times in the video as well. Samsung hasn’t used this branding all that much with respect to its foldable phones in the past, which begs the question, whether the company intends to use it for its tri-fold device.
Rumors have suggested that the tri-fold may be unveiled alongside the other devices at the July Unpacked event, despite its release taking place later in the year, likely by October. We’ve seen Samsung use a similar strategy with the Galaxy S25 Edge earlier this year, so it wouldn’t be at all surprising if something like it is repeated for the elusive tri-fold as well.
