McCartney Tribute Takes Center Stage at Hagerstown’s Hub City Vinyl on July 5

The McCartney Experience, a tribute to Paul McCartney, is set to perform at Hub City Vinyl, 28 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, on Saturday, July 5, according to a community announcement.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 and the event is open to all ages.

The McCartney Experience aims to capture the essence of McCartney, from his early days with The Beatles to his solo career and time with Wings. The show promises a journey through McCartney’s iconic career, featuring a mix of beloved stories and timeless songs.

Jed Duvall, the frontman, is known for his uncanny resemblance to McCartney in terms of look, voice and stage presence. The band recently performed at the Rex Theater in Leonardtown, Maryland, and Teatro Eslava in Madrid, Spain. ABC Madrid called Duvall “the best Paul McCartney impersonator in the world.”

The band is excited to return to Hagerstown after a year away.

“After a cold debut at Hub City Vinyl in January 2024, we’re looking forward to a warm reception in Hagerstown,” Duvall said in the announcement. “And what better way to celebrate Independence Day than to sing along to the songs we all know?”

The setlist includes a wide variety of hits from The Beatles, Wings and McCartney’s solo career. Songs like “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “I Saw Her Standing There,” “Silly Love Songs” and “Dance Tonight” are expected to be performed. The band has also added “No More Lonely Nights” from the film “Give My Regards To Broad Street.”

Duvall, a lifelong McCartney fan, grew up listening to a wide variety of music, but no artist captured moments in his life like McCartney.

“I’ve always enjoyed Paul the performer, but I’m always amazed at the amount of variety coming from Paul the songwriter,” Duvall said in the announcement. “His music seemed to just grow as I did. So, playing his music feels like I’m telling the audience a bit about me. McCartney’s songs take me back to specific times in my life, from childhood to now. There aren’t many artists that take you through your entire life.”

The McCartney Experience aims to provide an intimate and personal setting for audiences.

“Like many, I’ve gone to McCartney concerts and seen a tiny figure on a stage so far away, it’s easier to watch the video feed,” Duvall said. “I try to give the audience the chance to experience Paul on a personal level and give them the feeling that they’re actually watching him perform. This is no ‘Salute to Paul McCartney,’ with a lot of glitz but not a lot of substance. Nor is it a Beatles tribute band. This is a chance to really experience Paul McCartney.”
