Shadow Army shines at Ripon on Sky Sports Racing | Racing Update

Shadow Army, representing Wathnan Racing, is set to make a comeback at Ripon this afternoon after facing disappointment in the Phoenix Stakes. The race will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing…

3.12 Ripon – Prix Robert Papin runner up Shadow Army faces six rivals

Shadow Army has been competing in high-class juvenile races, including Group Ones and Twos in England, Ireland, and France. Despite finishing fourth in the Phoenix Stakes, behind Babouche and Whistlejacket, his performance was solid and the form has been impressive in recent weeks. This race at Ripon presents an easier challenge for Shadow Army, and he is expected to perform well if he can handle the track.

Based on official ratings, Soldier’s Heart is likely to be his main competitor, especially after a dominant performance over the course and distance just a few weeks ago. Benevento, who made a strong debut at Yarmouth, has also caught the attention after moving to trainer Raphael E Freire.

3.35 Chepstow – Consistent Kalama Sunrise looks to continue progression

Kalama Sunrise has shown rapid improvement since transitioning to handicapping races, going from a rating of 46 to 72. With a strong record at the track and David Probert taking over the ride, she is on an upward trajectory despite facing a tough field in this race.

Stockpyle, a half-brother to Pyledriver, has been highly regarded by trainers William Muir & Chris Grassick and has shown promise at the track. Fact Or Fable, a regular at Chepstow, also lines up as a strong contender.

3.47 Ripon – Course specialist Garden Oasis features

Garden Oasis returns to his favorite racecourse at Ripon, where he has had success in the past. With multiple wins at the track this season, he is a dangerous competitor.

Major Partnership, rated 101, is a strong contender after a break from racing, while Padishakh drops in class and could be a threat in the race.

Best of the rest

Eartha and Mademoiselle face off at Southwell (2.12), while High Velocity races at Ripon in a five-furlong sprint. Mashadi and Ticktyboo compete in a maiden race at Chepstow (4.45).
