Amazon has entered into a significant podcast agreement with a show hosted by famous football players and siblings Travis and Jason Kelce, marking another step into the audio entertainment industry by the technology giant.
On Tuesday, Amazon disclosed that its podcast studio and publisher, Wondery, had finalized a deal with New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce, a sports and lifestyle podcast presented by the two brothers. NFL star Travis Kelce is also known for his relationship with music star Taylor Swift.
Wondery now has exclusive rights to distribute and monetize audio and video episodes of the podcast, set to kick off its third season. The deal is believed to be valued at around $100 million and will run for three years.
Amazon had previously acquired the rights to the Smartless podcast, in a deal said to be worth tens of millions of dollars, before the show led by actors moved to SiriusXM this year. The company also recently revealed an agreement for actor Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast.
