Revamped Company Set to ‘Brew’ New Business Opportunities

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – You might remember the old Bull Falls Brewery in Wausau, just down the road from the police department. Well, new owners have taken over the building and are spicing it up a bit with a beer garden that’s expected to open on Saturday, July 26.

“I like that they’re going to be shocked,” Jason Peck, co-owner of the Bull Falls Brewing Company, said.

New co-owners Jason Peck and Kurt Mueller expect people to have that reaction when walking into the beer garden.

While beer will still be the focus, there are some changes. Instead of ‘Bull Falls Brewery,’ it will be called ‘Bull Falls Brewing Company.’ Once you are inside, you can expect a new kitchen, along with unique beers.

“The beers are not necessarily staying the same. We have the same brewer who was here for the last 13 years, but he’s been given a little more leniency with the product of the ingredients that he’s getting,” Mueller said. “So, the beers are actually going to be better.”

Peck said they want to bring people in from across the country. That means bringing the taste of Germany to northcentral Wisconsin.

“More traditional beer garden-type items,” he said. “So, with trees, landscaping, a lot of greenery, Bavarian-style beer garden tables, total transformation of the inside here.”

The remodel also includes a stage for live music. Peck says they have already had bands reach out to them, saying they are excited to come to Wausau.

“They are so excited about what we’re doing here. We’ve had a couple of people in that whole event industry come here and tell us Wausau needs this,” Peck said.

Peck and Mueller say they’re excited to show the community the Bull Falls Brewing Company.

Opening day for Bull Falls Brewing Company is Saturday, July 26

“Wausau did not lose the brewery. It’s, this is going to be so much bigger,” Peck said.

“Come back home,” Mueller added. “I mean, a lot of people loved coming here, and missed coming here.”

Peck and Mueller say the beer garden will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 3 to 9 p.m. The hours for the inside are yet to be determined, but they’re hoping to have that part of it open by the end of the summer.
