EXCLUSIVE: Here’s one for the star-crossed lovers of the streaming era.
The latest video app on the market is Love Drama, a short-form platform from UK-based Kedoo Entertainment dedicated to romantic series.
The app is purpose-built for mobile-first viewers and will offer shows in a vertical, immersive format akin to the micro-drama platforms popular in Asia. Episodes will be under two minutes and targeted at “consumers seeking quick, emotionally compelling and binge-worthy entertainment on the go,” according to Kedoo.
Shows will include Billionaire’s Secret Baby, From Gate ‘A’ to Her Heart and Wings After 40.
Love Drama will be available through a freemium model – where some content is available with premium content offered at a cost, and through a token-based system. The freemium tiers are priced at $7.99/£7.99/€7.99 for weekly access, $19.99/£19.99/€19.99 monthly and $99/£99/€99 annual. The token model offers series of around 20 episodes for $1.99/£1.99/€1.99.
Kedoo, which is best known for its growing kids brand Booba, believes snackable and emotionally-resonant short-form content is growing in terms of global demand. The company expects the romance-focused Love Drama will appeal to international audiences and the female and couple demographics in particular, especially in the Americas.
“Love Drama is engineered for the future of entertainment – where premium storytelling meets the realities of modern, mobile-first consumption,” said Batyr Aidarkhan, Business Development Director at Kedoo. “Our platform is built to deliver emotionally engaging, highly binge-worthy drama in a format that fits today’s lifestyles and tomorrow’s possibilities.”
Love Drama has gone live on the App Store and Google Play.
