Ian Richardson, 73, had his electronic devices installed with tracking software which monitored his use of the internet after he was convicted in 2022.
He appeared on Wednesday before Colchester Magistrates’ Court which heard police attended Richardson’s address after they were alerted to him deleting his search history.
Stuart Cowen, prosecuting, said: “Police attended his home address so a full diagnostic check of his Galaxy Samsung device could be carried out.
“It was seized for a digital download.
“There were several areas of data, including web searches, messages, and phone calls deleted from the device.”
Mr Cowen then read some of the search terms which Richardson had deleted.
He continued: “169 items were deleted, including 27 web searches and 113 contacts.”
Richardson, of Priory Park, Botanical Way, St Osyth, admitted one charge each of breaching a sexual harm prevention order and failing to comply with requirements for sex offenders.
Unrepresented, he told magistrates: “I am surprised by the amount of information given by the prosecution counsel – that was not given to me at all at any stage.”
Richardson will be sentenced on Wednesday, August 20.
