Southampton-based Circle Technology Group Ltd, the company behind cloud communications innovator circle.cloud, has strategically acquired telecommunications specialist Tetra Networks.
The acquisition increases Circle Technology Group’s total user base to approximately 10,000, marking a significant milestone toward achieving its target of 100,000 users by 2035.
The strategic rationale behind the acquisition is the strong alignment with Circle Technology Group’s soon-to-be-released unified communications platform, We UC.
Currently at beta stage, We UC is positioned to directly challenge established providers such as Microsoft Teams, RingCentral, Dialpad, BT Cloud Voice, 8×8 and others.
We UC includes features such as instant messaging, secure file sharing, advanced call management, detailed analytics and state-of-the-art video conferencing, all packaged within an intuitive and easy-to-use interface.
Axel Molist Cordina, founder and managing director of Circle Technology Group, said, “This acquisition represents a critical step in our journey toward reshaping business communications.
“It aligns perfectly with our mission to simplify and enhance collaboration for small and medium-sized businesses, significantly boosting their efficiency and profitability through innovative technology.
“The acquisition increases Circle Technology Group’s total user base to approximately 10,000, marking a significant milestone toward achieving our ambitious target of 100,000 users by 2035.”
Paul Farr from Tetra Networks will assist Circle Technology Group in the smooth transition of Tetra’s customers onto the We UC platform, ensuring seamless continuity and maximising benefits for users.
Founded initially as Circle Communications by Axel in 2015, Circle Technology Group has expanded rapidly, now employing 115 staff members at its 9,500 sq ft headquarters at Town Quay, Southampton.
Tetra Networks, which operated out of nearby Ocean Village in Southampton, was acquired for an undisclosed six-figure sum.
