Poll shows Harris with a 30-point lead over Trump among young voters

Kamala Harris has increased the lead for Democrats among younger voters, outpacing Donald Trump by 32 percentage points among likely voters aged 18 to 29, according to a poll conducted by the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School.

The poll results show Harris leading Trump 64% to 32% among young likely voters in a hypothetical two-way match-up.

John Della Volpe, the Institute of Politics polling director, stated, “This poll highlights a significant shift in the overall sentiments and preferences of young Americans as the campaign enters its final stages.”

An earlier Harvard Youth Poll this year had President Joe Biden ahead of Trump by only 13 points among likely young voters in a field with multiple candidates. In contrast, Harris leads Trump by 31 points in the latest poll among a multi-candidate field.

The Harvard Youth Poll surveyed 2,002 individuals aged 18 to 29 from September 4 to 16. The margin of error for the total sample is +/- 2.65 percentage points.
