Long Beach, California, experienced four stabbings over the weekend within a nine-hour period, as reported by the police.
In response to the incidents that occurred on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, the Long Beach Police Department has increased its presence, according to City News Service.
“The LBPD will have additional police presence today, including patrol officers and Neighborhood Safety Bike Team officers, to engage with residents and businesses,” stated the Long Beach Police Department to Fox 11 on Sunday.
The first stabbing took place around 6:20 p.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, where a man was stabbed multiple times in his upper body during a fight that stemmed from an argument. The suspects had already fled the scene when the police arrived.

The victim from the first stabbing was hospitalized and is in stable condition.
The next stabbing occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday at the 5100 block of Second Street in Belmont Shore, where a physical altercation between two men ended with one man stabbing the other in the upper body. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The suspect had fled before the police arrived.
Another incident happened at approximately 2:20 a.m., leading officers to a local hospital where two victims had been admitted for stab wounds.
After an initial investigation, it was discovered that two women were involved in a physical confrontation in the 200 block of Pine Avenue downtown, resulting in both victims being stabbed in the upper body. Both victims are in stable condition.
Despite efforts to locate a crime scene, officers were unsuccessful.
The fourth stabbing was reported around 3 a.m. in the 5100 block of Second Street. Although this incident occurred at the same location as the second stabbing, the two events seem unrelated, according to the police.
During a dispute between a group of women, one female suspect punched the victim, while a second female suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body. The victim managed to go to the hospital and is in stable condition.
