Nintendo announces that the long-awaited Donkey Kong Country area of Super Nintendo World will be showcased in a Nintendo Direct stream on Monday at 5PM ET. This is a promising development for the theme park expansion dedicated to Mario’s original nemesis, which faced delays earlier this year.

Nintendo officially confirmed the construction of the area, complete with a mine cart rollercoaster ride, in 2021. Earlier this year, Nintendo and Universal Studios provided a glimpse of the region through a digital render, confirming that the Orlando version of Super Nintendo World will debut on May 22nd, 2025, with the same attractions as its Osaka counterpart.
delayed earlier this year
Nintendo revealed in May that Donkey Kong Country’s Mine-Cart Madness rollercoaster will feature “jaw-dropping maneuvers,” including being “blasted out of a barrel” and “jumping over gaps” on the rickety track. Visitors can anticipate Donkey Kong-themed merchandise and interactive experiences throughout the park.
