A potentially tragic situation involving Jason “Sundance” Head, the winner of The Voice in 2016, was narrowly avoided.
Despite the fortunate outcome, the singer is in need of plenty of thoughts and prayers at this time.
According to Head’s agent as reported by The New York Post, he was shot in the naval area, but thankfully, none of his vital organs were affected.
The incident occurred at Head’s Texas ranch while he was alone.
On Facebook, Head’s wife Misty shared a message requesting prayers for Sundance, as he was flown to the hospital with a gunshot wound in his stomach. She mentioned that he was stable for the flight but didn’t provide further details.
In a subsequent update, Misty clarified that the injury was accidental and not caused by anyone else. Sundance was reaching for his 22 when it discharged, hitting the exterior of his Jeep.
Fortunately, Sundance was able to seek help and was eventually assisted by a passerby who called 911.
In a Facebook post, Misty reassured concerned family and followers that Sundance was not intentionally shot, providing further details on the incident.
She recounted Sundance’s quick thinking and actions following the accidental discharge, which led to his safe transportation to the hospital. Misty expressed gratitude for the care he received but shared concerns about his release without surgery or necessary medications.
What a shocking turn of events! Sundance, known for his winning stint on The Voice, is appreciated for his renditions of popular tracks by artists like Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Keith Urban.
Misty also expressed concerns about Sundance’s health post-discharge and planned to seek a second opinion upon his return home.
Continued prayers are welcomed for his speedy recovery.
