ATP Finals: Jannik Sinner Crushes Casper Ruud to Advance to Final Against Taylor Fritz | Tennis News

World No 1 Jannik Sinner dominated Casper Ruud with a score of 6-1 6-2, securing his place in the ATP Finals title match against Taylor Fritz in Turin.

Sinner delivered an impressive performance on Saturday night, ending Ruud’s hopes and setting up a rematch with American Fritz, whom he defeated in the US Open final and in the group stage earlier in the tournament.

“I felt like my return game was strong from the start, and I maintained focus during my service games after taking an early lead,” said Sinner during his post-match interview.

“I faced a few break points in the first set, but managed to overcome them. I elevated my level of play and maintained intensity throughout. I’m pleased with my performance and excited to be in the final.

“It’s a similar scenario with Fritz as we’ve already faced each other in the round-robin stage and will now meet again in the final.

“I’ll give it my all tomorrow. Anything can happen. I’m just grateful to be back here. I’ve grown as a player since last year.

“It’s been a positive week and year for me, so I’m really happy.”

‘A demolition job’

“An absolute ball-striking masterclass from Jannik Sinner. Just his level of play, the consistency, the quality, giving a world-class player like Ruud absolutely no chance,” commented Tim Henman on Sky Sports Tennis.

“Just a complete demolition in an hour and six minutes.

“Just full of confidence going into tomorrow’s final against Taylor Fritz.”
