Reports indicate that Israel is moving closer to a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in Lebanon following nearly a year of escalated fighting that turned into a full-blown war in September.
According to Israeli media sources like YNET and Haaretz, Israel has tentatively accepted a U.S.-backed proposal for a ceasefire. However, no final agreement has been reached yet.
Lebanon and Hezbollah have reportedly agreed to the ceasefire last week, but both parties still need to give final approval before it becomes official.
The ceasefire seems to be a response to Hezbollah’s large rocket attacks on Israel, which were met with Israeli strikes on Hezbollah command centers in Beirut.
