Charles Leclerc set the fastest time in the practice session ahead of Sprint Qualifying at the Qatar Grand Prix, with Lando Norris in second place.
As Ferrari aims to close the gap in the Constructors’ Championship, Leclerc led the way by beating Norris by 0.425s. Oscar Piastri finished in third and Carlos Sainz in fourth.
Currently trailing McLaren by 24 points, Ferrari had a strong start at the Lusail International Circuit.
Defending world champion Max Verstappen struggled, finishing in 11th place after a tough flying lap on the soft tires. This put him behind Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who were both over a second slower than Leclerc’s best time.
The Sprint Qualifying event will take place later on Friday at 5.30pm – live on Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports Main Event.
