Heading into the Christmas week, the top spot on Netflix’s Top 10 list has shifted away from the Christmas-themed show, Black Doves, to other non-Christmas content.
Recently, the Norwegian series La Palma, centered around a tidal wave disaster, has dominated the chart, even in the US. However, it has now been dethroned by the return of Virgin River, a long-running series on Netflix. Virgin River’s sixth season is now fully available, signaling a departure from Netflix’s split-season strategy.

Despite La Palma’s initial success, it remains a limited series due to its premise. On the other hand, Virgin River has already been renewed for a seventh season, highlighting its popularity among viewers despite limited critical reviews.
As the battle for the top spot on Netflix continues, the upcoming release of Squid Game season 2 on December 26 is expected to shake up the rankings for the new year.
