TLC will be premiering new episodes of the long-running reality show for the new year.
The cable network recently announced that Season 13 of My 600-Lb. Life will debut on January 1st, featuring a new group of overweight individuals working with Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, a bariatric surgeon from Houston who has been part of the show since it first aired in 2012.
In a preview for Season 13, one participant shares, “I’ve been this way my whole life,” while another expresses, “I’m trapped in this body.”
Viewers will witness Dr. Nowzaradan having a serious discussion with one of the patients during a medical appointment, emphasizing personal responsibility for change.
Unfortunately, My 600-Lb. Life has faced legal challenges and the loss of more than a dozen former cast members due to various health issues.
The most recent season of My 600-Lb Life premiered in early 2023.
The show’s synopsis describes the journey of morbidly obese individuals undergoing drastic changes through gastric bypass surgery to improve their health and quality of life.
Additionally, Dr. Nowzaradan will be featured in a new docuseries called The 6000 lb. Diaries with Dr. Now on Lifetime. The series follows 10 individuals collectively weighing 6,000 pounds as they strive to lose weight and improve their lives.
The 10-episode docuseries offers a glimpse into the lives of these participants at Dr. Now’s facility in Houston, showcasing their journey towards better health and well-being.
