Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his well wishes for Christians worldwide on Christmas and thanked the Christian community for their ongoing support during Israel’s conflicts with terror groups.
Netanyahu shared a video message on Christmas Eve on his social media account X.
“My dear Christian friends, as you gather with your loved ones this Christmas, I send blessings for a Merry Christmas from the Holy Land to the Christian community in Israel and around the globe,” he stated.

Israeli forces have been engaged in ongoing conflicts with terror groups like Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon after Hamas’ surprise attack on Oct. 7, 2023, resulted in military retaliation from Israel.
“In the midst of Israel’s battles on seven fronts, we are grateful for the unwavering support of our Christian allies worldwide. Your steadfast support as Israel defends against barbarism is truly appreciated,” Netanyahu emphasized.

“The people of Israel are united in defending our nation against those seeking to destroy us,” he asserted. “While we pursue peace with those who seek peace with us, we will take all necessary measures to protect the only Jewish state and our shared heritage.”
Israel is home to over 180,000 Christians, representing about 1.8% of its population of over 9.9 million, according to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics.

The Christian population in Israel increased by 0.6% last year.
“Israel leads the global fight against evil and tyranny, but our battle is not over yet,” the prime minister concluded. “With your support and with God’s help, we will prevail. From Jerusalem, the city of peace, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
