vMinimum Wage Set to Increase in 22 States by 2025

If you earn the minimum wage — and reside in the right location — you may be entitled to a salary increase this year.

In 22 states in the U.S., the minimum wage is set to increase in 2025, as reported in a compilation by Paycor, a company specializing in human resources software.

Some of these states are gradually phasing in their minimum wage over a span of years with the aim of reaching $15 per hour. Several other states already have a minimum wage that is at or above $15. Washington, D.C., currently boasts the highest minimum wage in the nation at $17.50, according to Paycor.

Other states may not have a $15 goal but are still increasing their minimum wages.

The following are the states raising their minimum wages in 2025, according to Paycor. Each state is presented with its new minimum wage, followed by the 2024 rate in parentheses.
