Major League Baseball has issued an indefinite ban to the two New York Yankees fans who interfered with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts’ play in Game 4 of the World Series last October.
Both individuals are now banned indefinitely from all MLB stadiums and facilities for grabbing Betts’ wrist and taking a ball out of his mitt during a game at Yankees Stadium against Gleyber Torres.
They were immediately ejected from the stadium after the incident occurred in the first inning of New York’s 11-4 victory. Additionally, their tickets for Game 5 were revoked.
As per MLB.com, they received a notification of the ban via a letter this week, emphasizing the serious risk their behavior posed to Betts’ health and safety.
They are warned that trespassing and possible arrest await them if they attempt to enter any MLB-related event premises after this ban.
The fans had acquired front-row seats from a long-time season ticket holder who will retain his tickets despite not being present at the game.
