An expert reveals a surge in power grid faults just prior to the start of Los Angeles wildfires

Whisker Labs, a company that monitors electrical activity, reported a significant increase in faults along the Los Angeles power grid in the areas where three major wildfires are currently burning.

According to CEO Bob Marshall, the company observed a sharp rise in faults prior to the Eaton, Palisades, and Hurst Fires in Los Angeles. Whisker Labs has a network of around 14,000 sensors known as “ting” sensors across the city that can identify electrical faults with precision.
