While some ebikes just stick to being bikes with motors, others really embrace the electronic features. The carbon fiber Infini X1 from Chinese startup Cyctron falls into the latter category with its camera, lights, and power bank.
Currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign, the Infini X1 is primarily a gravel bike but is also suitable for urban use. It features a carbon frame, fork, and seatpost, weighing 18.5 kg (40.8 lb) for a full-size medium bike. The rider’s pedaling power is boosted by a 250- or 350-watt Ananda mid-mount motor, reaching a top assisted speed of 32 km/h (20 mph) in North America or 25 km/h (16 mph) in Europe.
The motor is powered by a 672-Wh lithium-ion battery integrated into the down tube, providing a range of up to 110 km (68 miles) per charge depending on the assist mode selected. Riders can switch between modes through an app, top-tube touchscreen display, or a lever on the brake handle.
The X1 includes a platform with a headlight, video camera, power bank, and smartphone mount. The bike offers security features like alarms and GPS tracking in case of theft. An app and onboard sensors provide data on the ride, speed, and power usage.
The bike also features a SRAM Apex wireless-shift drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes, a Fizik Terra Aidon saddle, and Continental Terra Trail tires on carbon rims. Interested buyers can pledge $3,149 on Kickstarter to secure an Infini X1.
