Dubai Bling star Ebraheem Al Samadi shared insights about his involvement in Netflix’s popular reality show during an exclusive Masala magazine interview in late 2022. According to him, Netflix approached potential cast members for their new Dubai-centered reality series with limited information about the project. He described his casting experience as follows,
“Surprisingly, none of us knew it was called Dubai Bling or that it would be on Netflix! When I received the call, all I knew was that it would showcase successful businessmen on a major streaming platform. I was excited as it was a chance to share my business journey in the region.”
Recently, Al Samadi featured in season 3 of Dubai Bling which premiered on Netflix on January 8.
Dubai Bling star Ebraheem Al Samadi discusses the mysterious casting process
The Netflix team initially presented a simple concept of highlighting successful entrepreneurs in Dubai to Al Samadi. In their early discussions, the focus was on the business community in Dubai as depicted in Dubai Bling. This casting experience proved to be a significant moment in Al Samadi’s career.
At the time, his business ventures included Forever Rose, a floral brand renowned for long-lasting flowers in 34 colors. The brand gained fame for flowers that could last up to three years without water or sunlight. He also managed the Forever Rose Café, a unique 2D café concept that gained popularity on TikTok.
Background
Being born in Kuwait in 1988, Al Samadi moved to the United States at a young age of two. His upbringing involved frequent travels between Kuwait and the US, leading to language and cultural identity challenges. In a podcast with Hikmet Wehbi, he described himself as a “hybrid” due to his Kuwaiti-American background, facing acceptance struggles from both communities.
He credited his mother for kickstarting his entrepreneurial journey by encouraging him to sell surplus clothes on eBay. This early support system played a crucial role in his success with larger business ventures later on.
Initially living in a modest one-bedroom apartment, he transformed his clothing sales into profitable ventures, shaping his business approach for larger projects like Forever Rose in London. His decision to relocate the business to Dubai proved fruitful, especially with royal clientele supporting the brand.
When asked in the Masala Magazine interview if he misses his previous lifestyle, he expressed nostalgia, saying,
“I made my first million dollars at 18, so we’re talking about my teenage years; who wouldn’t miss that? As much as I love my current life with its chaos, diverse responsibilities, exciting plans, and more — I do miss the calm before the storm!”
Describing the difference between the millionaire Ebraheem and the pre-millionaire Ebraheem, he emphasized kindness, humility, and generosity, maintaining these traits regardless of his financial status.
