AEW star who was absent from recent matches discloses that their return proposal was rejected

An absent AEW star has disclosed how his proposal for his comeback was rejected by the company. He is a widely popular figure and his return would have surely been loved by fans.

There are numerous names that captivate the wrestling community, and one of the most captivating ones is Danhausen. The mysterious wrestler defies explanation, but unfortunately, he has not graced AEW television in the entirety of 2024.

Danhausen appeared as a guest on Insight with Chris Van Vliet where he shared about his proposition for a return. He discussed a comeback themed around Halloween, but it seems that the Jacksonville-based promotion kept delaying his return.

“So I was like, well we could air these Halloween 3 style, annoying commercials until I come back and I was like, cool, and then it kind of just didn’t happen. So I think that kind of sucked the air out of the return a little bit, in my opinion, at least for me, it did. It was built for Halloween, and then I could have came back the next week, and I just didn’t. Then it took a little bit more time, and then I think I did come back on Thanksgiving, so it’s like three or four weeks later, but I come out and I want to wrestle,” he said. [H/T: NoDQ]

AEW star Danhausen says he almost teamed up with Sting

In the same episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the AEW star also revealed how he was on the verge of teaming up with Sting and Darby Allin.

Like Sting and Darby, Danhausen is known for painting his face, and seeing them as a team would have been intriguing. The 34-year-old star expressed his strong desire for it to happen, and for a moment, it seemed like a possibility, but unfortunately, it did not materialize.

“I really, really wish I could have teamed with Darby and Sting. It almost happened. I think there was, like, a hint of it, and then it just didn’t,” he said.

It would have been fascinating to see what plans Tony Khan had in store for the trio of face-painted wrestlers before the idea was eventually scrapped.
