Israeli Forces Conduct Violent Raids, Forcibly Displacing 26,000 Palestinians in the West Bank amid Israel-Palestine Conflict

Numerous Palestinians have faced displacement and the destruction of homes in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, including Jenin refugee camp, following over two weeks of deadly Israeli siege and raids.

According to Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut in Amman, Jordan, the Israeli army claims the operation is aimed at combating armed Palestinian fighters. However, over 26,000 Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes as a result.

The Israeli military has demolished homes in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nablus without offering evidence to support their claims of military infrastructure within the targeted buildings.

Israeli forces have destroyed large parts of Gaza, resulting in over 47,000 deaths. Meanwhile, in the West Bank, over 70 people, including 10 children, have been killed since the beginning of the year.

Since the Gaza ceasefire in January, Israel has increased operations in the West Bank, creating difficulties for Palestinian civilians in accessing essential services like education, work, and healthcare.

A report by Doctors Without Borders highlights the challenges within the healthcare system in the occupied West Bank, exacerbated by Israeli military actions and movement restrictions.

The report also addresses the intentional interference in emergency healthcare delivery by Israeli forces and settlers, within a context of described segregation and apartheid by the International Criminal Court.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that at least 884 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since the Gaza war began in October 2023.
