Ireland has brought back seasoned players Peter O’Mahony and Robbie Henshaw for the upcoming Six Nations match against Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday.
O’Mahony, who led Ireland to victory in the Six Nations last year, returns to the starting XV for the first time since the summer tour to South Africa. Henshaw, who came on during the last game, replaces Garry Ringrose at outside centre.
The 35-year-old O’Mahony replaces Ryan Baird in the back row. Easterby, the interim head coach, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to face the challenge posed by Scotland.
The Scotland team will announce their lineup soon.
Caelan Doris will lead Ireland once again from the back row, while Cian Healy is set to break a record as Ireland’s most capped player in the Guinness Men’s Six Nations if he takes the field and exceeds Brian O’Driscoll’s record of 65 Six Nations appearances.
The Ireland team will consist of Hugo Keenan, Mack Hansen, James Lowe in the back three, Bundee Aki and Henshaw in the midfield, and Porter, Kelleher, Bealham in the front row.
