Following this trend of infusing digital work suites with AI, Dropbox upgraded its AI search tool, Dash, which was first introduced in 2023.
The company is enhancing Dash by adding AI “understanding” capabilities for different types of content, allowing users to search across text, audio, video, and images. Additionally, they are implementing people search functionality to help users find specific project collaborators or subject-matter experts.
Last year, Dropbox introduced Dash for Business to enable enterprises to utilize AI search. This year, they are improving Dash’s enterprise features by introducing the ability for IT administrators to exclude sensitive documents from search results.
Users will now be able to search for various media formats using natural language queries. Furthermore, Dropbox’s AI can now summarize documents and provide new writing tools that utilize this summary from different sources to create new documents and presentations within Dash.
Dropbox is also adding new integrations to Dash, including communication tools like Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams, as well as project management and creative tools like Figma, Canva, and Jira. These integrations will allow users to search for information across multiple projects on various platforms.
