The Trump Department of Homeland Security criticized the New York Times for focusing on deported criminal illegal immigrants rather than their victims.
The department rebuked the outlet for spotlighting Nascimento Blair, a Jamaican national deported by ICE for kidnapping, in a recent article.
According to the Times, Blair was portrayed as a reformed individual who had completed degrees and was involved in his community post-prison.
