Author ends UP book tour at Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library

ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) – Author Tim Schulz made the final stop of his book tour at the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library on Wednesday evening.

Schulz has been touring the U.P. as part of the Michigan Notable Books Author Tour, which the Library of Michigan sponsors. He spoke on his most recent book, A Cast Away in Montana. The book focuses on Schulz’s first fly fishing trip to Montana.

Schulz shared easter eggs within both of his books and spoke of his time teaching at Michigan Tech University. He says his book seems to resonate with more than just fly fishers.

“It’s part travel log, part essays about fishing, and I think it has so far been interesting to a wide range of readers – from people interested in fly fishing to people that have no interest in fly fishing but like stories about travel and life and dogs,” Schulz said.

Schulz says the book can be purchased at Snowbound Books in Marquette and “at other local bookstores, I hope.”
