Aaron Rodgers ridicules endorsements from ‘celebrities purchased by China’ before upcoming presidential election

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers understands the significance of Tuesday.

In an interview on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday following his team’s victory over the Houston Texans, Rodgers delved into the upcoming election.

Rodgers shared that he is now a registered voter in New Jersey. However, he and the show’s hosts pointed out that Tuesday is crucial not just for politics but also for the NFL trade deadline. Towards the end of the interview, they referred to Tuesday as the “trade deadline” while touching on political topics like FEMA and financial support for Ukraine.

During the discussion, Rodgers took a swipe at celebrities who have made endorsements this year.

“If you’re unsure about the trade deadline, just consult your favorite celebrity,” Rodgers quipped. “I find it amusing when a celebrity is influenced by China.”

Rodgers’ remarks come amidst a surge of last-minute endorsements for Vice President Kamala Harris from various celebrities in the lead-up to the election. Notable figures such as NBA star LeBron James and the cast of Marvel’s Avengers films have shown their support for Harris. Similarly, musicians like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Jennifer Lopez have also voiced their backing for Harris ahead of the high-stakes election day.

On the other hand, there have been no prominent celebrity endorsements for NFL trade deadline decisions.

But Rodgers didn’t stop there. He criticized the U.S. government’s decision to allocate billions in aid to Ukraine, under the Biden-Harris administration, despite numerous American citizens being impacted by recent hurricanes in the southeastern region.

Rodgers questioned the allocation of funds, highlighting the pressing issues within the country that could benefit from financial assistance rather than engaging in a proxy war.
