The annual awards recognize exceptional contributions from small business partners who help advance OREM’s critical cleanup mission. Since the launch of UCOR’s current contract in 2022, small businesses have performed 85% of subcontracted work, far surpassing DOE’s 45% goal and totaling more than $770 million in awards. During the ceremony, UCOR highlighted Aleut’s work on the Alpha-2 utility reroute project at the Y-12 National Security Complex, citing the team’s responsiveness and technical agility in overcoming significant challenges. As UCOR noted, “Aleut’s efforts to respond to challenges saved months and millions of dollars for the project.”
