The Kindle Oasis has been discontinued by Amazon, the only Kindle available with physical page-turn buttons. The company announced a new Kindle lineup today, confirming it’s moving on from the Oasis to focus on touch-forward devices.
Amazon’s Devon Corvasce stated, “Once current inventory of Kindle Oasis sells out online and in stores, we will not restock the device. Today, all of our devices are touch-forward which is what our customers are comfortable with.”
Amazon’s listing for the Oasis shows the e-reader is “currently unavailable.”
Introduced in 2016, the Kindle Oasis was positioned as a high-end e-reader with page turn buttons and a design for easier one-handed holding. Amazon refreshed the e-reader in 2017 and 2019 but hasn’t updated it since.
