As we approach the end of the first month of 2025, Americans may still be holding onto their healthier New Year’s resolutions.
American Airlines has introduced a healthier menu and “Dry January” mocktails to assist travelers in “maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle on the go,” according to a press release.
Five new mocktails have been included in Admirals Clubs, featuring turmeric, ginger, elderberry juice, and other health-conscious ingredients.

Oat milk creamer and La Croix lime sparkling water have been added to the beverage choices.
American Airlines’ menu now includes options for vegetarian, vegan, kosher, lactose-free, Muslim, Hindu, diabetic, and gluten-free meals.
These specific dietary meals can be pre-ordered before flights.
“Our health-conscious dishes are designed to taste delicious while also promoting hydration, aiding digestion, and being packed with nutrients,” stated Kim Cisek, American’s vice president of customer experience, in the press release.

Cisek added, “At American, we want our passengers to reach their destinations feeling satisfied and rejuvenated so they can fully enjoy whatever adventures are ahead.”
These changes coincide with President Donald Trump’s emphasis on his Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) initiative, aiming to enhance nutrition, reduce toxins, preserve natural environments, and combat the epidemic of chronic diseases, according to MAHA’s website.

Earlier this month, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued guidelines linking alcohol consumption to at least seven types of cancer.
“Alcohol is a well-established, preventable cause of cancer that accounts for approximately 100,000 cancer cases and 20,000 cancer-related deaths annually in the United States…yet most Americans are unaware of this risk,” stated Murthy in the advisory.
The airline has also collaborated with fitness app FitOn to provide travelers with guided stretching videos and meditation exercises.
“Sitting for long periods, especially during extended flights, can lead to muscle stiffness and poor circulation, both of which can be prevented with a few easy stretches from your seat,” Cisek added.
