Amy Earnhardt pays tribute to Sherry Pollex with five words

Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s wife, Amy Earnhardt, shared a heartfelt tribute to Martin Truex Jr.’s late ex-girlfriend Sherry Pollex on her social media account. On her official Instagram, Mrs. Earnhardt posted a picture of a memorial for Pollex and left a touching message.

Amy Earnhardt posted an image of a plant pot dedicated to Pollex’s memory. The pot had “In memory of our friend, Sherry Pollex 5.10.1979 – 9.17.2023” written on it. In her caption, Mrs. Earnhardt wrote,

Martin Truex Jr. and Sherry Pollex started dating in 2005, a year after Truex Jr. debuted in the NASCAR Cup Series. Their relationship lasted for 18 years until they decided to go separate ways in 2023. In 2014, during their relationship, Pollex was diagnosed with Stage III ovarian cancer.

Tragically, after a nine-year battle, Shelly Pollex passed away in September 2023 at the age of 44. She passed away eight months after their breakup. Despite their split, Martin Truex Jr. and Shelly Pollex remained connected.

Even years after her passing, NASCAR recalls Pollex as a vibrant figure in the sport. Known for her philanthropic work, she co-founded the Truex Jr. Foundation in 2007 with Truex Jr.

Additionally, she established the Sherry Strong Integrative Medicine Oncology Clinic at Novant Health in Charlotte and launched the website SherryStrong.org to aid women in detecting and receiving treatment for ovarian cancer.
