Just in time for the holiday season, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, now responsible for Disney’s physical media production and distribution, has released “The Mandalorian” season 3 and “Ahsoka” season 1 on 4K Ultra HD Steelbook on Dec. 3.
These Disney+ Original “Star Wars” shows are part of the Lucasfilm Collector’s Editions series and come with 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision and Atmos audio. The Collector’s Editions feature glossy SteelBook cases with new artwork by illustrator Attila Szarka, as well as bonus features, interviews, deleted scenes, and collector cards.
To add to the festive spirit, two featurette clips are available for fans. The first clip delves into the transition of Anakin Skywalker from “The Clone Wars” animated series to the live-action “Ahsoka” show.
Ahsoka – “Anakin”
This clip shows Ahsoka’s visit to The World Between Worlds, a mystical Force realm explored in “The Clone Wars.” There, her former master provides her with advice and skills to pass on to her apprentice Sabine Wren.
The second clip focuses on “The Mandalorian” season 3 and provides insights into the creation of the show’s aliens and androids by the VFX and makeup artists.
The Mandalorian – “Creatures”
The clip features Peter Clarke and Rick Galinson from Legacy Effects discussing the creation of the character Gorian Shard, a unique animatronic character covered in plants.
