Antonio Brown, former NFL star, initiates fundraiser for families of New Orleans terror attack victims

Former NFL star Antonio Brown has launched a fund to support the victims and families affected by the terror attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day.

The attack, carried out by Shamsud-Din Jabbar who rammed a truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street, resulted in the death of more than a dozen people and multiple injuries. The suspect, believed to be inspired by ISIS, was killed in a confrontation with law enforcement.

Brown initiated the GoFundMe with over $3,500 raised in the initial hours.

“This is not about me but about supporting the families who lost their loved ones in New Orleans,” the fundraiser’s description stated. “I will collaborate with Gofundme to ensure that every dollar raised is divided among the 15 families who lost their loved ones on January 1st. Prayers.”

Brown is not the only NFL personality offering assistance to the victims.

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan contributed $25,000 to a fund established by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and the city of New Orleans.

“I am joining @GNOFoundation and the @CityOfNOLA by donating $25,000 to the New Year’s Day Tragedy Fund to support victims of the attack,” Jordan shared on X. “Please consider donating to assist the families of those who lost their lives and those who were severely injured.”

The attack led to the postponement of the Sugar Bowl, which is now scheduled to take place at the Caesars Superdome at 4 p.m. ET.
