AP Top 25: Oregon and Ohio State maintain positions, Alabama drops out of top 10, Colorado at No. 23


Alabama and Mississippi dropped out of the top 10 of The Associated Press Top 25 poll Sunday. Miami and SMU moved in following a chaotic weekend in college football.

Oregon remains No. 1 for the sixth consecutive week. Ohio State, Texas, and Penn State hold their positions behind the Ducks.

Notre Dame returned to No. 5 after beating Army for its ninth straight win.

Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, and SMU made moves in the rankings. SMU reached the top 10 for the first time since 1985.

Alabama and Mississippi dropped significantly in the poll after losses to Oklahoma and Florida, respectively.

Texas A&M also fell in the rankings after a loss to Auburn in four overtimes.

Arizona State and Iowa State made moves up in the rankings after significant wins.

Indiana-Ohio State was the top-five matchup of the regular season, with Indiana dropping in the rankings after the loss.
