Spotify, Verizon, PlayStation, and now Bank of America are experiencing outages this week. Some Bank of America customers faced issues accessing their accounts on Wednesday, with balances showing as $0 or “—-” instead of the correct amount.
Bank of America media relations executive Matt Card confirmed, “Some mobile and online banking clients experienced an issue accessing their accounts and balance information earlier today. These technology issues have been fully resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Reports of account balance issues spiked just before 1PM ET on Downdetector and on Reddit. Some users mentioned that amounts owed were showing accurately despite balance errors.
The bank’s app displayed notifications of accounts being temporarily unavailable as reported by CNN. Some users have reported intermittent access to their accounts, and the extent of the issue’s impact is unknown.
