YouTube TV will undergo a redesign in the upcoming summer months

YouTube announced on Wednesday that it will be rolling out a new design for YouTube TV’s user interface in the summer. The redesign will include improvements to navigation, playback, video quality, and easier access to comments, channel information, and subscriptions.

Details about the redesign are currently scarce, but we have reached out to YouTube for a preview of the design assets and will update once we hear back.

In addition to the UI redesign, YouTube also introduced some new features for its apps.

One of the new features is an AI-powered function called “Ask Music” which creates a personalized radio station based on your music preferences. Currently, this feature is only available for iOS and Android apps to English-speaking subscribers of YouTube Premium and YouTube Music in select countries.

Furthermore, YouTube TV subscribers can now customize their viewing experience with the multiview feature, allowing them to watch up to four streams simultaneously. Initially limited to sports content, users can now customize their multiview feed by selecting from popular non-sports channels, with more channels to be added in the future.

YouTube Premium users will also benefit from the addition of 4x playback speed support. Additionally, content creators will have expanded access to a feature that enables them to reply to comments on their videos using voice notes.
