The federal police of Brazil have officially named former President Jair Bolsonaro along with 36 others as key figures in an alleged coup attempt.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the police also implicated former defense minister Walter Braga Netto and former national security adviser Augusto Heleno in the conspiracy.
The accusation stems from a plot to overthrow the government following Bolsonaro’s defeat in the 2022 presidential election to current President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
