Although the group did not announce a specific date, BTS confirmed that their highly anticipated post-military album comeback will arrive in the spring of 2026.

In June 2025, The Korea Herald previously reported that BTS’s comeback would be in March 2026, as confirmed by someone from HYBE, although it also stated that the full comeback schedule was “yet to be finalized.”

Have BTS finished working on their upcoming album?

No, in fact, BTS are yet to start working on their first album post-military at the time of writing. During the livestream where the album plans were announced, the members shared that the group is planning to head to the United States starting in July 2025 to work on new music.

“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” the members said during the stream, per a translation provided by HYBE.

During the stream, the members also clarified that since they couldn’t work on new stuff while enlisted, that’s why it will take some time.

As The Korea Herald reported, HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang previously said BTS would be “preparing alongside top-tier producers” and also noted that “the artists also need time to reflect and prepare.”

When will BTS begin their 2026 tour?

Alongside the album announcement, BTS announced they are preparing for a world tour too, which is also expected to take place in 2026. “We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are,” the members said.

The still-unnamed tour will be the group’s first tour since 2022’s Permission to Dance on Stage, which saw the group performing in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The group also later held a free concert in Busan, South Korea, on October 15, 2022, titled Yet to Come in Busan.
