ProgressPAC, the political affiliate of the Business Council of Alabama, announced Thursday its endorsement of U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville in his campaign for governor of Alabama.
The endorsement follows a vote of approval by ProgressPAC’s board of directors, a group they said is composed of Alabama business leaders committed to promoting pro-jobs, pro-growth policies across the state.
“Coach Tuberville has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the issues that matter most to Alabama’s business community—from workforce development and education to infrastructure and economic competitiveness,” said Helena Duncan, president and CEO of the Business Council of Alabama. “His vision for Alabama’s future aligns with our mission to make this state the best place to live, work, and do business. We are proud to support him in this race.”
“As a sitting U.S. Senator and former Auburn football coach, Tuberville has built a high-profile platform around conservative values, economic development, and strong leadership,” BCA said in a release.
“I am thankful for the outpouring of support from so many business leaders across the Yellowhammer State,” said Tuberville. “As a former small business owner, I know firsthand how overregulation, high taxes, and inflationary policies can make it harder for small businesses to succeed. Thankfully, President Trump is back in the White House and working around the clock to get our economy back on track. As Governor, I will partner with President Trump to get rid of burdensome regulations and unleash Alabama’s pro-business economy.”
Gary Smith, chairman of ProgressPAC and president and CEO of PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, emphasized the importance of leadership in the years ahead.
“ProgressPAC supports candidates who are committed to economic growth and fostering a business climate where job creators can thrive,” Smith said. “Coach Tuberville brings a record of public service and a commitment to the core issues that impact Alabama businesses every day. We’re confident he’ll lead our state with strength and integrity.”
