NEW YORK — Before a do-or-die Game 4 at Yankee Stadium, Jazz Chisholm considered wearing Timberlands on the field for batting practice. They were a gift from outfielder Alex Verdugo, who wanted to do something special for the team.
For the first three games of the World Series, the Yankees’ powerful offense had struggled. The tides turned in Game 4 with Freddie Freeman’s go-ahead blast, and the team finally found their rhythm.
