EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The Eau Claire City-County Health Department reminding people traveling during the summer months, to make sure your child’s car seat is properly installed.
The health department says their free car seat check is designed to assess your child’s car seat. Seeing if it’s safe for your child at all times.
During the check, parents and caretakers will practice installing the car seat with a technician to make sure you’re confident using the seat before leaving.
Public Health Nurse, Hannah Buelow, says why this is important.
“Children are constantly growing so you always want to make sure that you, you adjusted the harness a while back but double check when you’re harnessing them in there that it’s still fitting properly.“ she said “‘Good enough’, might not be good enough when in a car accident.”
The free car seat check is this Thursday June 19 at One Automotive Group in Eau Claire from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.. Child passenger technicians will be in neon vests.
