Carrie Underwood pays tribute to Randy Travis at the Opry 100: An unforgettable live celebration.

Carrie Underwood captivated the audience at the 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday night.

Underwood graced the stage at the event, named Opry 100: A Live Celebration, to pay tribute to Randy Travis, who invited her to join the Grand Ole Opry as a member 17 years ago in 2008.

Underwood commenced her homage to Travis by recounting a childhood memory. She mentioned her sister’s cassette tape of Travis’ music, which she borrowed and never returned.

After five years, Travis suffered a stroke that severely impacted his ability to sing.

During the event, Underwood performed Travis’ songs “Three Wooden Crosses” and “Forever and Ever, Amen.”

At the conclusion of “Forever and Ever, Amen,” Underwood approached Travis in the audience and handed him the microphone to sing the concluding “Amen,” causing an emotional reaction from the audience.

“Randy Travis everybody,” Underwood declared before embracing the country music icon. The audience immediately rose to their feet, applauding Underwood and Travis.

Fans flocked to social media to express their thoughts on the powerful performance.

“IM NOT CRYING YOU ARE,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, while sharing a clip of Underwood and Travis’ moment.

“THREE WOODEN CROSSES. I was NOT ready,” another user wrote, adding crying emojis.

A third added, “Wow . Tears everywhere as Randy Travis closes with Carrie Underwood.”

The Grand Ole Opry shared a post about Travis inducting Underwood into the family 17 years ago.

“We’ll never forget the moment Randy invited Carrie into the family,” the account shared, encompassing a photo from 2008.

Underwood rose to prominence after winning “American Idol” in 2005. Her debut album, “Some Hearts,” was released that same year and featured the hit “Before He Cheats.”

Country superstar Blake Shelton served as the host for the event titled the “Opry 100: A Live Celebration” on March 19, broadcasted on NBC.

The official 100th anniversary of the Grand Ole Opry is in November, and the country music house will be celebrating all year long.

Underwood graced the country music ceremony in an elegant one-shoulder black gown. The dress had a sheer bottom and an elegant train.
