Joe Gamm is the city editor for the Jefferson City News Tribune. He is responsible for connecting reporters with stories and scheduling photography to illustrate the stories. As a writing coach, he also encourages reporters to find creative ways to tell their stories while adhering to the newsroom’s style restrictions. He draws from a wide range of life experiences to add flavor to his work. An award-winning writer, he came to the News Tribune in 2018 as a religion, social services, health and government reporter, and has covered the ordination of the Roman Catholic bishop in Jefferson City, discourse over a local hospital’s potential sale, expansion of area health care providers, the abortion fight in central Missouri, veterans’ issues and much more.
