Chancellor Explores TCU’s Future and Growth in Exclusive Interview with ‘University Business’


As Daniel W. Pullin assumes his new role as chancellor, he brings a wealth of knowledge
about TCU’s new 10-year strategic plan. The plan details how to increase enrollment,
faculty and staff while maintaining the university’s values and commitment to high-touch,
experiential learning, and he recently spoke to
University Business about how to make it all work.  

“The university will get a little bigger, but we’ve drawn a line in the sand to make
the best version of TCU possible,” he said. “We will not deviate from small class
sizes and the commitment to personal wraparound student success services.”
 

Pullin told the publication that the greater Fort Worth community plays a key role
in TCU’s growth. He also discussed his leadership philosophy of being involved with
the campus community.

“Recognizing that the college presidency or chancellorship is a full-contact sport
has inspired me to stay current, relatable and accessible to the disparate nature
of our stakeholders,” he said. “Returning phone calls and emails, even saying ‘Hi’
when you run into somebody at the grocery store, elevates everyone’s belief and trust
that you have the best interests of the institution at heart.”
